Description

GEPetrol (Guinean Equatorial Petroleum Company) is the national oil company of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, mandated to manage and promote the country’s petroleum resources across the hydrocarbon value chain. Established to implement national oil and gas policy, GEPetrol plays a central role in coordinating exploration, production, commercial operations, and strategic partnerships that drive Equatorial Guinea’s energy sector growth and revenue generation.

As the state’s principal commercial oil company, GEPetrol participates in upstream exploration and production ventures, negotiates and manages production sharing contracts with international partners, and oversees national interests in key offshore and onshore hydrocarbon assets. The company also engages in activities that support midstream infrastructure, crude marketing, and resource optimization to ensure effective market access and sustainable value creation.

GEPetrol’s mandate emphasizes responsible resource stewardship, investment facilitation, and local capacity development. Through collaborative arrangements with international energy companies, technology providers, and service contractors, it strengthens institutional capabilities while advancing Equatorial Guinea’s strategic objectives in the global oil and gas industry.

For investors and industry stakeholders, GEPetrol serves as a primary government counterpart for upstream investment opportunities, joint ventures, and sector engagement, offering insights into project portfolios, licensing frameworks, and strategic initiatives aligned with the country’s economic development and energy security priorities.
