Description

The Petroleum Directorate of Sierra Leone (PDSL) is a governmental regulatory and administrative body. Established in 2003, the Petroleum Directorate is responsible for the management and monitoring of the petroleum resources of Sierra Leone.

PDSL, positioned under the Office of the President, H.E. Dr. Julius Maada Bio, is the sole authority responsible for monitoring and regulating all upstream and midstream oil and gas activities for the State. This set-up gives PDSL the flexibility to negotiate petroleum license agreements with efficiency and reduced bureaucracy, which is of mutual benefit to the State and to the investors.
